Veg4Health - home of "Wisdom From the Kitchen" My name is
Nancy Walker and I'm here to provide you with healthy, practical
and
reliable tips and advice on how to eat healthier, to live a healthier
life - from my
kitchen to yours!
My
purpose is to help you learn that living a
healthier lifestyle is really
not as hard as most think. I want to
be your source for practical
advice on food selection, preparation and
all those things that are involved in a healthier lifestyle.
So,
where should you begin? Well, if you're just getting started with your
journey toward healthy eating, why not start with the Menus
section? Here you will find 10 week's worth of menus, which is a great
place to "cut your teeth". It will take you step-by-step and
week-by-week until you become more familiar with what healthy food
actually looks like. We have also added a special section called Picture Recipes
that walk you through various recipes from start to finish with
photos. One thing that I tried to do was to keep the recipes
and
menus simple.
There are lots of places that you can go to find very involved and
exotic dishes, which frankly, I found discouraging in the beginning. I
hope you appreciate the simplicity!
If you're already more familiar with what's healthy and what's not, you might just want to jump into the Recipes section and see what kinds of new dishes you can prepare for dinner this week. There's also a wealth of information in various Articles and Newsletters that I've published, so don't forget to stop there too. The recipes that are offered here contain no meat and no dairy, because meat and dairy have been proven to cause health problems, especially as much as they are consumed in the U.S. I also try to keep them as low-fat as possible, because most of us get enough fat in our diets anyway. (Watch this video). After all, this is a site that's all about "Healthy Eating". If you're not looking for a vegetarian site, that's OK, hang in there anyway...since we all still eat fruits and vegetables anyway, right? So I hope you can get past the "vegetarian" label and learn to understand what healthy eating entails and if nothing else, learn how to make some interesting side vegetable dishes. So, welcome to my kitchen! Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and we'll enjoy some time together. At my home, everyone congregates in my kitchen - exchanging ideas, recipes, happenings and joy! That's what I hope you will find here! Through my
